Take A Look At The Sunset

Authors Note: We are reading a book called The Outsiders. What I am going to right about is a theme, that when Johnny  was about to die, he wrote a letter to pony boy telling him, have dally take a look at the sunset.

Ever since Dallas Winston was a little boy, he was born and raised on the rigid streets of New York. Throughout his life he worked with multiple gangs, including the greasers.  Throughout the town rumors, thoughts, people assumed that the Greasers were poor, misbehaved,  didn't care about family, they were wrong though. All of them did, including Dally. Dally is a dangerous, non caring human, who looks at his criminal record with happiness, a job well done!  But Dally didn't grow up with a family that cared about him, that cared what his grades were, where he was, even if he was dead. Deep down though Dally deeply cared if about the Greasers, they were his family, the only people in the world that cared about  him, that loved him! Dally's experiences are a total match to loss of innocence.

Whenever a baby is born they are someone's tiny, beautiful miracle. When they first hold that baby they can see it's future, faster than a heartbeat. When Dally was born he was innocent, he was that little miracle. When Dally grew up he got into gangs, drugs, smoking, alcohol. Pretty much everything a parent doesn't want for a child. When Dally got into drugs, alcohol, ect. This is when he lost his innocence.

Uncorrupted from evil, malice, or wrong doing; sinless this is the definition of innocence. When Johnny told Pony boy to take a look at the sunset, I believe it meant tomorrows a new day, go to bed with hopes that tomorrow will be better. All Dally cared about was Johnny, and when Johnny was about to die, maybe he thought, look at the sunset whenever you see it think of me.

I believe that every good parent has some sympathy for their child when he or she is born, and they always will be that little miracle. Even though Dally wasn't cared for by his parents, he found his family, his love and by doing that he turned into a nice young man. By Dally looking at the sunset he will realize this isn't who I want to be, what god sent me on this earth to be; I believe he will change in to a man of passion and family. "When in doubt, take a look at the sunset".
